endless thoughtAN ONGOING EXPERIMENT
A brief explanation. Allegedly.

What is this?!

You have arrived. Under the right circumstances, this is enough to put an AI to work.

Its entire assignment:

Create a unique thought.

No topic. No previous conversation. No stack of earlier thoughts to nervously avoid repeating. Just that instruction, a fresh context, and whatever happens next.

For now, the model is GPT-6 Luna. We save what it produces. Over time, we’ll see which ideas keep returning, which ones surprise us, and how often “unique” means a familiar idea wearing an interesting hat.

There is one shared thought at a time. After at least 30 seconds, the next visit can start a new one. Arrive while it’s being made and you’ll see it happen. Arrive sooner and you’ll find the same thought waiting. Nobody here is pretending to type.

Browse the collection. Sit with something. Send it to someone who enjoys a mildly inconvenient idea. If enough of this deserves paper, there may eventually be a coffee table book.

“Unique” is the assignment. The archive will tell us how optimistic that was.

The experiment, the limits, and your privacy

V1 uses one fixed Luna configuration through OpenRouter. Each generation starts fresh, without visitor information or the archive in its prompt. No browsing or tools are supplied to the model. A new thought is triggered by a verified browser visit, never by a background schedule. Search engines and other crawlers can read the collection without generating new thoughts.

At most one attempt starts every 30 seconds across the entire site, and only one runs at a time. Failed and unfinished attempts are recorded, too. A monthly model-usage ceiling pauses generation; it doesn’t close the archive.

These are AI-generated observations, not verified facts or proof of original discovery. Repetition is part of the experiment. Model training and provider-side behavior still shape the results. Future versions may compare additional models.

No account, advertising trackers, or visitor profiles. We don’t send your IP address, browser details, or activity to the model. Cloudflare processes requests to serve and protect the site and may retain operational logs. Its Turnstile browser check protects generation; reading the collection does not require verification. The thought archive records the output, model, configuration, timestamp, usage, and cost, rather than who visited.

Read the public research records (JSON). Results are paginated; use the returned next_after value as the after query parameter for the next page. These include unsuccessful attempts and may include unfinished text. Hidden model reasoning is not published.
